For seven full years my body was held hostage by severe degeneration of the lumbar discs. At my worst I could not sit, stand, walk or drive for more than fifteen minutes. Even before the pandemic I was confined at home, spending most of every day on a yoga mat or in bed. Over those seven years I tried seventeen different approaches — Eastern and Western, traditional and modern, the practical and the esoteric. Either they did nothing, or they helped a little and then stalled. Not until June 3, 2024, when I encountered the Sanjiao wellness tea ceremony (the "tea practice"), did I truly see daylight.
I have now practiced for 27 months, essentially twice a day, and body and mind have been awakened little by little: circulation and metabolism are stirred, self-healing capacity is activated, cell renewal speeds up. Ailments large and small have clearly improved, and some have disappeared altogether. Listening to fellow practitioners share and to Master Wang's responses, my inner growth has been just as quick. A life that had shrunk away has blossomed again.
Around day 100 my neck was the first to respond. At first, with the morning's first cup, I could not tilt my head back at all — the pain was severe. By the tenth cup my neck was much looser and I could look up; at about three months I could tilt my head back easily on the very first sip, with no pain at all. I had a quiet sense that the practice would repair me in order: cervical spine, then thoracic, then lumbar.
At thirteen months the thoracic spine began to repair, and it continued for about two months. With each exhale there was pain on the right side of the thoracic spine — as I understand it, qi pushing against the lesion. Gradually, sneezing no longer meant back pain and leaking urine, and my bones no longer ached and flared in damp weather. In the autumn and winter of 2025 I visited twelve cities in four months — family, friends, travel, classes — leaving behind for good the life of being trapped at home.
At twenty-four months the lumbar repair reached another level. Cooking, gatherings with friends, going out — seven or eight hours in a row without needing to lie down. My quality of life and my whole state of being have turned around completely.
Other changes in body and mind have been just as clear:
- Atrial fibrillation: from six Holter monitor tests in eight months, with episodes even on medication, to a year and a half of stability on my regular prescription — no more trips to the hospital;
- Chronic pharyngitis improved; my qi is fuller, my voice is strong, and I can speak in long sentences again;
- The knee I injured playing volleyball in my youth no longer hurts;
- My heels no longer crack in winter, and rough skin has become smooth;
- Constipation improved — from small white pellets to well-formed golden stools;
- Sleep improved; I sleep through the night;
- My eyes are bright, age spots have faded, my complexion has gone from dark and dull to rosy, and muscle has come back to my forearms and thighs;
- Awareness has grown: less duality and judgement, more smiles; a heart that is softer, more relaxed and more playful; less fear, able to take a joke; one persona after another dropped away; from weighing every word to speaking freely; able to let small irritations out as they arise — and my relationship with my husband has improved wonderfully.
My deep gratitude to Master Jianping Wang and to the Sanjiao wellness tea ceremony he created. Beyond what it has done for my body, the daily companionship and response have grown my character — and that is the root of it all.
I want to pass this love and blessing on, so that the countless people who, like me, struggle with illness and search endlessly for a cure can take fewer wrong turns, find this practice sooner, benefit sooner, take back ownership of their health and their awareness, and let life blossom again.
